How does laser hair removal work?
The diode laser emits pulses of light that are absorbed by the pigment in the hair and converted into heat. This heat acts specifically on the hair root and is intended to reduce hair regrowth in the long term.
At Enkleana Aesthetics, the MeDioStar® diode laser by Asclepion is used for this.
Which body areas can be treated?
Treatment areas include the face and neck, upper body and back, underarms, arms and hands, bikini and intimate area, buttocks as well as legs and feet – also as a full-body treatment on request. You can find all areas with prices in the price list.
How many sessions are needed?
The laser only works on hairs that are currently in the growth phase. That is why several sessions a few weeks apart are needed. How many treatments make sense for you depends on your skin, hair structure and treatment area and is discussed with you personally.
How do I prepare for the treatment?
The treatment area should be shaved before your appointment. Avoid epilating, waxing or plucking in the weeks before, as the hair root needs to remain intact for the treatment. Also avoid intense sun, tanning beds and self-tanner before your appointment.

What should I keep in mind after the treatment?
Slight redness or a feeling of warmth on the skin is possible after the treatment. Afterwards, protect the treated skin from intense sun and use a high sun protection factor. You will receive individual aftercare advice right after your appointment.
Who is the treatment suitable for – and when is it not performed?
Dark hair responds best because it contains a lot of pigment. Very light, grey, white or red hair contains little pigment and usually cannot be treated effectively with the laser.
No treatment is performed, for example, during pregnancy, on freshly tanned or irritated skin, over tattoos, or with certain medical conditions or medications that increase the skin's sensitivity to light. Whether the treatment is an option for you is clarified beforehand in a personal consultation.
Are the results permanent?
The aim of the treatment is a long-term reduction in hair growth. A completely and permanently hair-free result cannot be guaranteed – hormonal changes, for example, can lead to new hair growth over time.
